China Telecom to Set Up E-Reader Production Base in Zhejiang

Chinese telecom operator China Telecom expects
to establish a production facility for manufacturing electronic book readers in
Zhejiang Province, TMCnet reported on February 9. Moreover, it is reported that
China Telecom has approached Chinese telecom equipment provider Datang Telecom
Technology for collaboration on product development. Among major Chinese
telecom operators, China Mobile has established an e-reader production base,
also in Zhejiang Province, in the second half of 2009. China Unicom, also
planning to tap into e-reader production, is expected to base related
operations in Guangdong Province.
