WiMAX Development in Asia January 11-17

Badan Regulasi Telekomunikasi, the telecommunications regulator of Indonesia, has appointed 2.3GHz and 3.3GHz frequency bands for use in WiMAX services, Wireless Week reported on January 13. Eight out of over 70 bidders have won the frequency licenses and they are Internux, Berca Hardayaperkasa, First Media, Telkom, Indosat Mega Media, Comtronics Systems Consortium dan Adiwarta Perdania, Jasnita Telekomindo, and Indonesian WiMax Consortium. Commencement of service is slated for November 2010.
