Lenovo to Establish New R&D Center in Taiwan

Chinese Lenovo recently unveiled that the company will establish a new R&D center in Taiwan, saying that the company is also projected to increase its scale of procurement from Taiwanese contract manufacturers in the future, Taiwan's Economics Daily reported on December 22. Lenovo's procurement value from Taiwanese companies reached around US$ 4 to 5 million per year in the past few years. Financial details of the investment, however, were not yet disclosed. Aside from Taiwan, Lenovo also has R&D centers in Japan's Tokyo and North Carolina, as well as several R&D centers in China, including Beijing, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Chengdu, and Shanghai, according to the same source.
