Huawei Bags HSPA Network Deployment Deal for EVN Telecom of Vietnam

Technologies recently announced that it has been selected by EVN Telecom to
deploy a HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) network in Vietnam, Nikkei reported.
Huawei signed the contract with EVN Telecom, a state-owned carrier and
subsidiary of EVN (Electricity of Vietnam) Group, on November 18. As per the terms of the contract,
Huawei is expected to deploy its SingleRAN and IPN (Intelligent Packet Network)
solutions for EVN Telecom's HSPA network in the first phase of the project, slated for completion by April
30, 2010. It is estimated that 2,500 base stations overall will be deployed,
covering 46% of the Vietnamese population.
