Foxconn to Acquire Dell's PC Plant in Poland

Taiwan's Foxconn said on December 2 that the company has reached a deal with US Dell for the acquisition of Dell's PC manufacturing facility in Lodz, central Poland, Economic Daily News of Taiwan reported. Following the completion of transaction, which is pending approval by the European Commission, Dell will source its PC production in Poland to Foxconn. Dell's Lodz plant is currently engaged in the production of desktop and notebook PCs as well as servers, with EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) as its main shipment destination. The entire staff of 1,700 at the Lodz plant will be transferred to Foxconn along with the facility. Financial details of the deal are as yet unavailable.
