China's Irico Starts Construction on 5G TFT-LCD Project in Zhangjiagang

China's Irico Flat Panel Display began
construction on its 5G TFT-LCD (Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display) glass
substrate project in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province, on September 28, local
newspaper Zhangjiagang Daily reported. Located in Zhangjiagang Economic
Development Zone, Irico's TFT-LCD glass substrate project includes three 5G production
lines, with an overall investment of 1.8 billion RMB (US$264.7 million; US$1=6.8
RMB). The company projects an annual production capacity of 1.54 million units
and output value of over 800 million RMB (US$117.6 million). Second phase of
Irico's Zhangjigang TFT-LCD glass substrate project will be contingent on the
industry development in the Yangtze River Delta, according to the news report.
