China Mobile, Dell Team Up for Smartphones

Chinese telecom operator China Mobile announced on August 18 that the company has entered a cooperation agreement with Dell, whereby they will jointly develop Smartphones, Reuters reported on August 17. These Smartphones reportedly will be contract manufactured by Foxconn. The Smartphone, which is said to be Dell's Mini 3i Smartphone, will support China Mobile's online application store Mobile Market, from where China Mobile's users can download applications for their mobile phones. Further details regarding the release schedule of Mini 3i Smartphone, however, were not yet disclosed.

Aside from Dell's Smartphone, Mobile Market store also offers mobile phone applications for ten Smartphone models, along with mobile phones manufactured by mobile phone brands, including Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG, Lenovo, Dopod, Sony Ericsson, Coolpad, and ZTE, according to the same source.
