Samsung, LG to Begin LCD Panel Cross Purchase in September 2009

manufacturers Samsung and LG are expected to sign an MOU (Memorandum of
Understanding) for cross purchase of LCD panels, which is slated for
commencement in September 2009, Etnews of Korea reported on July 6. It is
reported that Samsung will procure 17-inch wide LCD monitor panels from LG,
while LG will obtain 22-inch wide LCD monitor panels from Samsung. Talks
between the two companies regarding LCD panel cross purchase have been underway
for some time, and the two companies have already exchanged prototypes for
testing. It is expected that the signing of MOU will take place in this month
at the earliest, according to the Etnews report.
