China's Irico Group Begins Construction on OLED Production Line in Foshan, Guangdong Province

Chinese flat-panel TV manufacturer Irico Group Electronics began construction on its first OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) panel production line at the Wusha Industrial Park in Foshan, Guangdong Province, on May 20, Chinese-language Nanfang Daily reported. Irico has earmarked an investment of 508 million RMB (US$74.7 million; US$1=6.8 RMB) in building a production facility covering an area of 73,000 square meters, with a projected production capacity of 12 million units per year. Pursuant to Irico's three-phase OLED development scenario, the company plans to set up module and LTPS (Low Temperature Polysilicon) production lines, too. Moreover, Irico expects to add a 2.5G production line in three years, based on which the company seeks to construct a 4G line in five years. Construction on the first-phase line is slated for completion in 16 months.
