China's Skytone to Unveil Android Netbook PC Priced at US$250
May 01, 2009
In the wake of MSI's announcement to roll out a netbook PC running Google's open source platform, Android, around July 2009, China-based Guangzhou Skytone plans to launch a similar product within the next three months, the Sohu IT News reported on April 27. The new device, dubbed the Alpha 680, features a 533MHz ARM 11 processor, 7-inch LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screen, keyboard, touchpad, and built-in Wi-Fi (Wireless-Fidelity) will be priced around US$250. However, this Android-powered netbook PC will only have about two to four hours of power from a two-cell battery, which is much lower than the expected 12 hours. The Alpha 680 is currently going through final testing, according to the same source.
