Taiwanese Suppliers to Deliver Parts for New iPhone
April 17, 2009
Taiwanese mobile phone part suppliers will begin to ship parts for new iPhone models at the end of April 2009, Taiwan's Commercial Times reported on April 11, adding that the shipment volume is expected to reach four million units in the second quarter of 2009. The new editions of iPhone models will be based on 2.75G and 3G technologies, as well as a special version for the Chinese market. The phones will be manufactured primarily by Apple's incumbent Taiwanese contract suppliers such as Hon Hai for assembly operations, Wintek for touch screen panels, and Largan for camera modules. The new iPhone models are reportedly to hit the market some time around June 2009.
