Japan's Fujitsu created a wholly-owned optical module subsidiary on April 1, consolidating its existing optical module business, subsidiary Fujitsu Optical Components Manufacturing, and divisions of Fujitsu Laboratories responsible for optical module research, according to a press release by the company. Named Fujitsu Optical Components, the new dedicated company integrates the sales, manufacturing, and R&D functions of the respective units. It is reported that the new company will take full charge of Fujitsu's optical module operations from now on.
