Renesas Acquires Significant Share of Key Stream's WLAN Business

Renesas has taken over a significant share of the WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) business from Key Stream, a Japan-based WLAN chipset supplier, Nikkei Electronics Asia reported. Further details regarding the value of the deal, however, were not yet disclosed. Under the agreement, Renesas will continue to serve Key Stream's existing customers. Since 2007, Renesas has begun the cooperation with Key Stream in the development and supply of WLAN solutions, leveraging both parties' proprietary technologies.
