China PTAC, Nokia Sign Framework Deal on Mobile Phone Supply

China PTAC Communication Service and Nokia have renewed their strategic partnership agreement by signing a framework deal on mobile phone supply, according to a press release by Nokia on March 30. As per the deal, China PTAC is expected to spend more than US$1.76 million purchasing mobile phones from Nokia in 2009. The value of the 2009 deal represents considerable declines from the previous years, with the framework deals valued at US$2.0 billion in 2008 and US$2.5 billion in 2007, respectively. It is reported that the agreement between China PTAC and Nokia will extend to strategic cooperation in 3G and operator business as well.
