Taiwanese Hon Hai and HP have formed a strategic alliance, whereby they will jointly establish a new PC manufacturing plant in Turkey for NT$2.07 billion (US$59.2 million; US$1 = NT$35.0), Taiwan's Economic Daily News reported on February 25. Aiming to tap market demand in the Middle East and Europe, the new facility is slated for production within 2009, according to Taiwan's Taipei Times, quoting Hon Hai spokesperson Edmund Ding. Ding, however, declined to reveal further details of this investment plan.
