On February 3 Samsung and UniPixel, a US-based color display technology developer, jointly announced that they have signed a cooperation agreement for a new display technology, according to a press release by UniPixel. Under the agreement, they agreed to collaborate on the development of a new platform based on UniPixel's new color display technology, called TMOS (Time Multiplexed Optical Shutter), leverage both parties' proprietary technologies.

According to the same source, The new technology will reduce production costs by up to 60% and enhance performance of existing LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) and OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) technologies in terms of power consumption and brightness.
