Innolux to Postpone Production at New 6G Plant to 3Q 2009
December 31, 2008
Taiwan's Innolux Display, a LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) monitor manufacturing unit of Foxconn, is expected to postpone the commencement of production at its new 6G plant to the third quarter of 2009, Taiwan's Commercial Times reported on December 27. Previously the plant was scheduled to begin production in the second quarter of next year. Due to slackening market demand, equipment installation at the new plant is expected to be delayed for two to three months. Earlier in October Innolux had adjusted downward the projected capacity of the new 6G plant from 90,000 to 60,000 units per month. With the schedule pushed back by a quarter, it is projected that the new 6G plant will begin operating at full capacity in the first quarter of 2010 at the earliest.
