China's TCL, Intel Team Up for Next Generation Internet TV

TCL, a China-based electronic household appliance manufacturer, announced on December 9 that the company has inked strategic MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Intel, according to a press release by TCL. As per the memorandum, both parties will jointly develop and promote next generation Internet-enabled TV in China. The new TV will employ Intel's processor, codenamed CE3100, which can support Internet connectivity on consumer electronic products by decoding video content from broadcast and broadband sources, according to the same source.
