Taiwanese LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) panel maker AUO will delay its new 7.5G production line launch, the XFN Asia reported on December 3, citing a Taiwanese local paper, the Commercial Times. Due to the delay, the company's annual LCD panel production for use in 42-inch LCD TVs will be reduced by about five million. Even though its equipment installation is due to be completed by year-end 2008, the 7.5G plant will be idled temporarily. Should the plant begin operations, the plant is said to have a production capacity equal to the combined capacities of three 5G production lines, according to the same source.
