Korea's Samsung Electronics and US-based Freescale Semiconductor recently announced the formation of a partnership on developing LED (Light Emitting Diode) display technology and solutions, according to a press release by Freescale. The partnership is expected to take advantage of Freescale's LED driver ICs and Samsung's advanced LED backlighting technology. These two companies' collaboration in this sector started in December 2007 when Freescale sampled its LED display technology to Samsung. Further details regarding the partnership have not been revealed, though.
