Qualcomm Grants 3G Module/Modem Card Patent License to Foxlink

Telecommunications solution provider Qualcomm and Taiwan's Cheng Uei Precision Industry, trading under the name of Foxlink, have reached a worldwide royalty-bearing patent license agreement, Taiwan's Economic Daily News reported. As per the agreement, Foxlink will be able to utilize Qualcomm's patents in the development, manufacturing, and sales of 3G modules and modem cards based on the CDMA2000 (Code Division Multiple Access), WCDMA (Wideband CDMA), and TD-SCDMA (Time Division Synchronous CDMA) standards. Also, pursuant to the agreement, Foxlink will be charged for royalties at Qualcomm's standard worldwide rates.
