Chinese telecom equipment provider ZTE recently announced that it has signed a cooperation agreement with Etisalat, a telecom operator based in the United Arab Emirates, according to a report by the National of United Arab Emirates on October 22. Under the agreement, ZTE will manufacture mobile phones under the brand name of Etisalat, which will be sold in the emirates. Further details regarding the deal were not yet disclosed though.

Prior to its cooperation with ZTE, the company had forged partnership with Huawei, whereby Huawei would provide telecom equipment for Etisalat's nationwide optic fiber network and manufacture wireless mobile broadband modems carrying the Etisalat brand, according to the same source.
