October 17, 2008
China's Visionox began mass production of OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) panels in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province, on October 8, according to Interfax China. Visionox was established by Tsinghua University and several investors in 2001, and the company's Kunshan facility is reportedly China's first own-designed OLED production line. Annual production capacity of Visionox's Kunshan line is estimated at 12.0 million small-sized OLED panels. The company expects to plan another OLED line in the second half of 2009 depending on the actual status of the market.
