Microsoft, Nikon Reach Patent Cross-licensing Agreement on Consumer Electronics

Microsoft and Nikon have entered into a patent cross-licensing agreement covering digital cameras and other consumer electronics, according to a statement issued by Microsoft following the signing of the agreement at Microsoft's headquarters in Redmond, Washington. Terms of the agreement have not been made public, but it is understood that Nikon will compensate Microsoft through the alliance and the two companies' existing collaboration on wireless cameras and RAW image processing technologies will be further strengthened.
