TMD, Idemitsu Kosan Jointly Develop Long Lifespan OLED Panel for Mobile Devices

TMD (Toshiba Matsushita Display Technology) and Japanese oil refiner Idemitsu Kosan have jointly developed an advanced 2.2-inch OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) panel featuring a 60,000-hour lifespan and 100 mW power consumption, Reuters reported on August 20. TMD aims to apply the OLED panel to mobile phones and other mobile devices. Commercial production is slated to commence by March 2009 although no definite scale of production is given.
