ZTE, Huawei, Alcatel-Lucent to Supply Equipment for India's Shyam Telelink

Indian telecom operator Shyam Telelink, a subsidiary of Russia's Sistema, recently selected ZTE, Huawei, and Alcatel-Lucent to supply equipment for the company's CDMA 800MHz mobile network in India, according to Thomson Financial News. The three vendors will each be assigned a geographical area where they will be responsible for the delivery of equipment and provision of services related to network design, installation, start-up, and commissioning.

Shyam Telelink was awarded a pan-India telecom license in March 2008, enabling the company to provide services in 19 telecom circles covering 27 states. The company has earmarked US$5 billion for the rollout of services over the next year.
