Visionox to Pioneer Mass Production of OLED Panels in China in October 2008

China's first OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) panel line established by Beijing-based Visionox - a company established in 2001 by Tsinghua University and several other investors - will begin mass production in Kunshan of Jiangsu Province in October 2008, China Business News reported.
Construction on the production line started at year-end 2005, with a projected capacity of approximately 10.0 million small-sized OLED panels annually. First-phase equipment installation for the production line has already commenced, according to the same report.
Other Chinese companies, including Sichuan Changhong and Anwell, also announced plans to begin mass production of small-sized OLED panels during 2009, with an expected annual capacity of 12.0 million and 1.5 million units, respectively, also according to China Business News.
