Chinese telecom equipment provider Huawei announced on May 21 that it has teamed up with Australian mobile operator Optus to set up a Mobile Innovation Center
, to be located in Sydney
, Australia, according to a press release by Huawei.
According to the press release, the Center will deliver the state-of-the-art technologies and products to Optus, leveraging Huawei proprietary
mobile and wireless equipment and technologies. This Mobile Innovation Center
, slated to begin operations in August 2008, is projected to help accelerate the adoption of high-speed mobile and wireless broadband in Australia and enhance Optus's future mobile network quality and performance. Details concerning the amount of investment, however, were not yet disclosed.
