Flextronics, MSI Join Forces for Dell Orders

Singapore-based Flextronics and Taiwanese mobile phone maker MSI have jointly signed a supply agreement with major international PC brand Dell, Taiwan's Economics Daily News reported. It is further reported that Flextronics will be in charge of worldwide EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) and chassis supply, while MSI will take care of R&D and motherboard production.

In teaming up with Flextronics, MSI's motherboard shipment volume is expected to reach 20 million units in full-year 2008, including three million units manufactured for HP at the beginning of the year. Motherboards for use in Dell's desktop PCs are slated for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2008, also according to Economic Daily News. Further details regarding the deal were not yet disclosed, though.
