Kodak to License AMOLED Technology to LG Display
March 21, 2008
Expanding on a joint evaluation agreement signed by both parties in February 2006, US Kodak and Korea-based LG Display - formerly known as LPL (LG.Philips LCD) -announced on March 14 that they have reached an agreement to cross-license AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode) technology, Business Wire reported.

According to the same report, LG Display will pay the royalty to incorporate Kodak's AMOLED technology in modules for use in a wide range of small- to medium-sized display applications, including mobile phones, portable media players, digital photo frames, and portable TVs. As per the agreement, LG Display will be granted the right to use Kodak's exclusive OLED materials in LG-branded products as well. Financial details of this deal were not disclosed, though.
