Beijing-based Visionox, which was established in 2001 by Qinghua University and several other investors, recently announced the completion of a new OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) production line in Kunshan of Jiangsu province. Claimed to be the first OLED production line in China, construction on the plant commenced at the end of 2005.

Occupying an area of 30,000 square meters, Visionox's OLED plant is slated to begin mass production in the second half of 2008, according to EETime-China. The production line, leveraging China's homegrown technologies, is projected to turn out approximately 100 million small-sized OLED panels annually for use in various applications, including mobile phones, MP3 players, automotive displays, notebook PCs, and TV applications.
