November 16, 2007
Taiwan-based Arima announced on November 12 that it will sell its notebook PC and server-related businesses to EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Service) supplier Flextronics for a sum of US$191.5 million.

Arima's entire notebook PC and server-related operations, manufacturing facilities, equipment, technologies, and inventory will be transferred to Flextronics. The whole transfer process is expected to be finished by the first quarter of 2008. Flextronics plans to expand Arima's production capacity at the Wujiang facility in China from 330,000 units at present to 500,000 units monthly in a quarter following the takeover.

After the transaction, Arima is expected to focus on its investment in the communications, optoelectronics, and solar energy industries.
