TDK Demos Low-cost Color OLED Panel for Mobile Phones

According to Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Japanese TDK recently unveiled a new 3.2-inch full-color OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) panel prototype for use in mobile phones. Reportedly costing no more than comparable LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) panels and boasting a lifespan of 10,000 hours - double that of the current prototype - TDK's new OLED panel is slated for mass production in the second half of fiscal 2008, which runs from April 1 through March 31 of the following year.
