Sharp Debuts Multi-touch LCD Panel

According to an AFP news report, Japan-based Sharp debuted on August 31 a new LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) panel featuring an ultra-sensitive touchscreen. Sharp's new LCD panel embeds an optical sensor inside each pixel, thereby enabling the screen to respond to multiple simultaneous touch points. The new LCD technology can be applied to portable digital devices, which can thus function as a scanner to make photocopies.
