Teco, Kolin, Syntax-Brillian Form LCD TV Alliance
August 24, 2007
Taiwan-based Teco announced on August 22 an investment of US$20 million in acquiring a stake of approximately 3.5% in Syntax-Brillian, a US-based LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) TV vendor. A three-way strategic alliance was thereby formed between Teco, Syntax-Brillian, and Taiwan-based Kolin, a major maker of Syntax-Brillian's Olevia-branded LCD TVs and a stakeholder of the company as well. In addition to manufacturing and distribution, the three companies are expected to collaborate on financing, supply-chain management, and product development.
