Thailand's Cal-Comp to Expand Overseas Capacities

According to Bangkok Post, Thailand's Cal-Comp announced that it will invest approximately US$29.9 million in boosting the capacity of its Suzhou plant, owned by Cal-Comp's fully-owned Chinese subsidiary, Cal-Comp Optical Electronics.

Meanwhile, the company also announced that it plans to spend US$5 million on a new plant in Mumbai for the production of telecommunications and computer peripheral products. The operation in India will be carried out through a joint venture to be formed between Cal-Comp and a local partner. Cal-Comp is expected to hold a 40% stake in the new plant, slated for completion by mid-2008. The name of the partner was not yet disclosed.
