NEC, Solomon Team Up for MIPI DSI Product Testing
August 03, 2007
With the aim to commercialize mobile phones based on the MIPI (Mobile Industry Processor Interface) DSI (Display Serial Interface) specification, NEC Electronics and Solomon Systech have reached an agreement to collaborate on devising a common platform and methodology for testing the interoperability between the two companies' respective LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) driver ICs and bridge ICs. The MIPI DSI specification is expected to facilitate the development of mobile phones featuring multiple applications. Both NEC and Solomon's MIPI DSI-compatible products are scheduled to hit the market by year-end 2007.
