July 27, 2007
According to a Reuters report, the Israeli branch of Taiwan's Winbond Electronics, together with Microsoft, has developed a tiny-sized prototype device with a writable display, complete with Bluetooth wireless connection. Codenamed the Scribbler, the device utilizes the SideShow technology featured in Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system. With a stylus pen, the user can write notes on the Scribbler and transmit the data to and from a PC 100 meters away. Furthermore, the Scribbler can be used as an electronic sticky note and attached to any surface applicable. Tentatively priced at US$100, the Scribbler is slated for production in the third quarter of 2007.
