Synaptics Sets Up R&D Center in Tawian

Synaptics, a US-based supplier of notebook PC touchscreens and related interface solutions, announced to have established an R&D center in Taiwan. In addition to notebook PC touchscreens, Synaptics aims to boost its presence in the market of mobile phone touchscreens. Currently Synaptics' Taiwan R&D center has a workforce of 25, which is expected to increase to 100 within 2007.
