India's Videocon Plans to Build LCD Plant in Poland for US$7.1 Bln

According to Agence France-Presse, India-based Videocon has announced plans to set up a new LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) manufacturing facility at its existing TV plant in Piaseczno, Poland. With a planned workforce of 3,000 and an investment of up to 20 billion Złotych (US$ 7.1 billion; US$1 = 2.8 Złotych), this plant is slated to start operations within two years after gaining the Polish government's approval. Negotiations with the government are currently underway.
