India-based Videocon, heading the ASSOCHAM (Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India) delegation, has signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the CCPIT (China Council for the Promotion of International Trade) on May 15. Under the MoU, Videocon will invest about US$1.5 billion in establishing an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) plant in Shenzhen, China, aiming at supplying panels to both the local and overseas markets. The plant is expected to be operational within a year.
