India's Videocon Considering Semiconductor Complex in West Bengal

India's Videocon Industries recently stated that it is considering setting up a semiconductor design and fabrication complex that will accommodates R&D, training, incubation, and commercial functions near Kolkata in West Bengal, India. With an initial investment of 10 billion Rupees (US$237.7 million; US$1=42.1 Rupees), Videocon has applied for an area of 100 acres for this complex.
