Matsushita Kicks Off LCD TV Production in Malaysia

On April 4, Japanese Matsushita announced that it has begun its LCD TV (Liquid Crystal Display Television) production at the Shah Alam plant in Malaysia. The facility, claimed to be the company's first LCD TV plant in Asia outside of Japan, is expected to initially produce 30,000 and 20,000 units of LCD TVs in 2007 for the Malaysian and Singaporean markets, respectively, and later on for Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, South America, and Africa.
