CMO Starts Small-scale Shipment of RGB LED-backlit Monitors

According to Taiwan's Economic Daily, CMO (Chi Mei Optoelectronics) has started small-scale shipment of LCD monitors with RGB (Red Green Blue) LED (Light-Emitting Diode) backlight. In addition to 12.1-, 13.3-, and 14.1-inch notebook panels with LED backlight, CMO recently added 17- and 19-inch LED-backlit monitor panels to its product portfolio. The 19-inch RGB model for Acer is specifically for industrial use. Also, a 22-inch RGB model has been designed for ViewSonic, which boasts ultra high color saturation but is still in the sampling stage. Mass shipment of these RGB LED-backlit monitors is expected to start in the third quarter of 2007 at the earliest.
