Samsung, PT Mobile-8 Ink 3G Deal for US$373 Mln

On March 5, Samsung announced that it has signed a five-year contract for US$373 million to provide CDMA (Code-Division Multiple Access) 2000 system including base stations to Indonesian telecom PT Mobile-8, a subsidiary of an Indonesia-based media company BMTR (PT Bimantara Citra Tbk). This deal, beginning from 2007, is expected to double its subscriber base to four million by late 2007and expand Mobile-8's network capacity by 20%.
