Pioneer Reported to Suspend Planned PDP Plant

According to a Reuters report, Japan's Pioneer is expected to suspend its planned construction on a new PDP (Plasma Display Panel) plant in Minami Alps, Yamanashi Prefecture. Unsatisfactory sales performance and dropping prices in Pioneer's PDP business are considered main factors behind the postponement of this project, originally slated to begin by the end of 2007.
