Hitachi Reported to Roll Out FPTVs with Removable iVDR HDDs

Hitachi is reported to start selling FPTVs (Flat-Panel Televisions) with a removable 80GB HDD (Hard Disk Drive) in Japan around mid 2007. The removable HDD featured in Hitachi's FPTV conforms to iVDR (Information Versatile Disk for Removable usage) specifications and supports SAFIA (Security Architecture For Intelligent Attachment device) content protection technologies.
