Samsung Develops Ultra-thin LCD Panel for Mobile Phones

Samsung has developed a 0.82mm mobile phone LCD panel, which it claimed to be the world's slimmest model. The panel is made with the i-Lens mobile display technology, which integrates all display components into one module. By redesigning the light guide plate subassembly and the glass substrate, Samsung has made possible an ultra-thin mobile-phone LCD panel, as thick as a credit card and 0.07-millimeter slimmer than the existing thinnest model. Mass production is slated for the second half of 2007.
