Matsushita to Use Lead-Free Panels in PDP TVs Starting 2007

Matsushita announced on November 2 that all its PDP (Plasma Display Panel) TVs sold under the brand name of Panasonic will no longer use panels containing lead starting the fiscal year of 2007. The company stated that it has innovated new materials to replaced PDP TV's key component, called lead oxide glass. Since April 2006, the company has begun to use lead-free panels in its PDP TVs.
