AUO to Launch New Eco-Friendly Mobile Phone Panels

AUO has announced plans to showcase its new eco-friendly panels for use in mobile phones at FPD (Flat Panel Display) International 2006, which will be held in Yokohama, Japan, from October 18 to 20. Other than its environmentally friendly design, the new panel also features several state-of-the-art technologies, including ATR-MVA (Advanced Transflective Multi-domain Vertical Alignment) for better sunlight readability, Color Sequential for higher resolution, and APE (AUO Picture Enhancer), which cuts power consumption by 45%. The 1.3mm thick panel is claimed to be the slimmest mobile phone TFT-LCD (Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display) panel in the world.
